![]() ![]() Really? did I miss something? did they give a capacity on the missile launchers? sounds great Hopefully you may even start training for your Vanduul scavenging Reavern. ![]() I hope the dogfifghting module will already allows us to train at disabling main target of ships, see how tractor beams, docking collar. That's what I thought a mix of elements allows those ships to quickly build a florishing wallet and players that want to feel the pirate vibe are ready to pay more. So the Caterpillar is over-priced in RL money, but will pay off in in-game credits. A Caterpillar could potentially capture dozens of ships, and the owner of the Caterpillar will probably sell those ships in-game for 100,000s or even millions of credits. I think CIG is charging extra for the Caterpillar because of its intended role: boarding actions to capture other ships. So I think that prices are partially based on what pledgers are willing to pay, not 100% on the ship's capabilities. Although, the Retaliator packs an enormous amount of firepower for only $25 more - and only $100 more than the Gladiator, for 6 times as many bombs/torpedoes. I agree that the Caterpillar's ships specs don't reflect why it costs $225. If it's the second case, I'm quite sad as I like the look of those Drake interplanetary ships. And here again we can see a nearly double the price tag on the Cutlass(100) compared to the Avenger(60).Īre tractor beams and docking collar worth half a ship each or are they purposely overtaxing wannabe evil doer. The Cutlass have missiles, tractor beam and is a bit less mobile than the Avenger. This is quite sad knowing what they said about the Drake manufacture:" It also has a cheaper build quality: if Anvil is building Jeeps and Origin is building BMWs, this is a Honda."Īvenger and Cutlass are introduced to be the 2 side of the same coin, policing system and bounty hunting. It seems like they purposely overprice the pirate dedicated goods when looking at the similar case of the Cutlass VS Avenger. With all of that said I don't see how the price that is double of a Freelancer, or just 10% cheaper than a Retaliator relevant comparatively to other ships. The reputation of the Drake ships are said to attract more (unneeded) attention from cop, mercenary and everyone worried about their cargo. The behring M5A laser cannon seems to be the Class 4 weapon of predilection of the pledge ships being present on the Caterpillar(2), Freelancer(1), Constellation(1), Retaliator(8). The Caterpillar is ~20% heavier said to be caused by heavier armor. The Caterpillar is presented as the evil twin of the freelancer and some differences you can list is that the Caterpillar have 1 more Behring M5A Laser cannon, 2 tractor beams while the Freelancer have 2more upgrades capacity, 1 more engine modifier and 2 Talon Stalker missiles. A look at some price tag of comparable ships: ![]()
